In 1945 Carlo Ernesto Valente opened a coffee machine workshop in Milan; that was the beginning of Faema. Faema's name conjures up the spirit of the times with FAEMA standing for "Fabbrica Apparecchiature ElettroMeccaniche e Affini" (factory producing electrical and mechanical equipment and similar)
